Uniting Borders Multicultural Festival,

Veronica Robles Cultural Center presents the First Annual Uniting Borders Multicultural Festival, a festival for everyone!! with the support of Boston Cultural Council through the opportunity grant, HYM Investment and Gate Residential / North River CO. The festival will take place at Suffolks Downs on Saturday, June 30th from 12 to 8 PM.

The goal with this festival is to gather as community and highlight local talent and grassroots organizations to celebrate the diverse and rich cultures of our city. As part of the ceremony we will offer the Ethnic Award to East Boston Police Department, Detective Rosalva Medina of Chelsea Police Department, The Harborkeepers of East Boston, Member of the community Doris Hung and the Jossour Moroccan Association of Revere. We will present the 2018 Boston’s Minority Ethnic Talent Award  to Alexander Farias for his outstanding international music career and contribution to the local scene.

A one of a kind festival uniting 30 local performers including the Moroccan Band Stars of Boston, music bands, singers and ethnic dance groups from several countries. The event will be end with the Bachata Star and 2005 Billboard Best Artist of the year Domenic Marte.

Activities for children will include bouncy houses, arts and crafts, magicians, clowns and more.. Food will include arepas, Mexican street corn, hotdogs and pizzas. Bring your chair or lawn mat and join the FUN!!

The programing will start at 12 PM with youth talent and dance groups including Yorgelis Willians La Voz Kids Finalist 2014, Jossue “El Rancherito de Oro” La Voz Kids finalist 2016, Sebastian Medina, Alexander Taborda, Tomas Mira (Rap). Veronica Robles Cultural Center Dancers (Latin America), Pumawari Tusuy – Peru, Los Tunanteros de Boston – Peru, AENI American Ecuadorian Community of  New England, Chilean Community of Boston, Puerto Rican Groups Estrellas Tropicales and Fuerza Internacional.

Live bands will hit the stage at 1:30 PM starting with Karina Rae pop band, Moroccan Band Stars of Boston, Jimador Musical (Mexican Norteño band), Grupo Los Nítidos, (Salvadoran Music Band), Eduardo Betancourt and Carolina Montes (Venezuelan Ensemble), Con Sabor Colombiano (Colombia), Na Bangela (Brazil), Panadictos (Spanish Rock) in between bands the following solo singers will delight the audience with their talent: Alexander Farias, Gian Faraone, Aida Silva, Saul Garcia, Gerson Eguiguren, Jose Garcia, Bebo “La Ravia” , Ladi J., La Yaquesita, Dania “La catrachita, Lender Maldonado, Manuel Torres, El verdugo de la salsa.

Veronica Robles Cultural Center is proud to host a special concert of Venezuelan Harpist Eduardo Betancourt to release an original and innovative Harp project entitled “AD LIBITUM”.

With this innovative project Eduardo Bentacourt shows its versatility and the different facets of the Harp. Using the new harps CAMAC EC and ELECTRIC LLANERA built by the prestigious factory of Harps “Les Harpes Camac” France, he explores new sonorities applied to traditional Venezuelan music giving a refreshing contemporary sound.

As part of the ArtWeek Spring 2018 there will be a pre-concert session with the artist to learn more about Venezuelan Harp styles.

As part of the ARTWEEK Spring 2018 Veronica Robles Cultural Center offers a unique opportunity to learn about Mambo Style Salsa dance on 2 for beginners and advance dancers.

Veronica Robles Cultural Center invites you to join our House of Mambo Salsa Social the only place where you can dance the New York Style Salsa in Boston with our DJ spinning the hottest Mambo, salsa, bachata and kizomba!!!

The beginners Mambo Shines Class (8-9 p.m.) is with guest instructor, Robert Rosario from New York City!! , the Intermediate Mambo Shines Class (9-10 p.m.) is with our instructor Juan Lopez, and the social dance follows.
