What Is “Día de las Velitas”? – Cultural Context

Día de las Velitas (Day of the Little Candles) is one of Colombia’s most beloved traditions and marks the official start of the Christmas season. It is celebrated every year on December 7th, on the eve of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
