Veronica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC) presents “2024 Dia de Muertos,” New England’s largest multi-day “Day of the Dead Celebration”, offering a series of activities to immerse in this thoughtful tradition honoring our ancestors and deceased loved ones. This year VROCC marks its 12th year bringing this rich tradition for everyone to enjoy.
VROCC’s “Dia de Muertos” multi-day, multi-site series includes Altar installations and exhibitions, a Catrina’s Parade, a Festival, workshops, and lectures comprising spoken word, dance, music, theater, artmaking, technology, and culinary experiences.
Events will take place from October 2nd through November 3rd. 2024.

Join the Catrina Contest!
On October 25th, during our Noche de Catrinas, we are looking for the most original and creative Catrinas.
Evaluation Criteria: You will be judged on five key aspects: how well you follow the theme of La Catrina and the Day of the Dead, the creativity of your design, the details in your makeup, the quality and finish of your costume, and how you present it.
- Take a photo or video showcasing your Catrina costume.
- Post it on your social media (story or post) and tag @vroccboston.

La Catrina – Atlixco is a monumental artisanal piece created using the cartonería technique, standing 13 feet tall with a dimension of 35m³, representative of Mexican
and Atlixco culture. This artwork pays homage to Posada’s iconic calavera illustrations while showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Mexico and the Atlixco region.
Dates: It will be on display from SundayOctober 27th through Monday November 4th at Harvard Square in Cambridge outside the Charles Hotel.
- Lecture: Origins and Meanings of Dia De Muertos by Dr. Raquel Urroz.
Join us to learn more about Dia de Muertos origins, this lecture is presented In Collaboration with Universidad Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM – Boston).

HUMAS was assigned by VROCC the task of organizing the temporary exhibition of Day of the Dead altars located at the ICA Watersheld on November 3rd! We invite you to join the celebration and contribute to the event organization.
How can you participate?
- Collaborate in the logistics and production of the event, starting on October 11th.
- Participate in the setup on November 2nd, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Support us during the event and teardown on November 3rd, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m.
- Every contribution and every volunteer makes a difference!
